About us

A travel help center, not a travel agency

Support In Flight LLC publishes practical information for people who fly. Everything on this site is free to read, and nothing on it is for sale.

We started because the same handful of questions kept coming up among friends and family: how early do I really need to be at the airport, what happens if my bag does not arrive, is a fifty minute connection enough. The answers existed, but they were buried in airline terms and forum threads that contradicted each other.

Our mission

Make the travel day boring

A good trip is one where nothing surprises you at the airport. We aim to remove the surprises by explaining the process before you meet it, and by telling you exactly what to do when something breaks.

Plain language first

Airline policy is written for lawyers. Our job is to translate it into the two or three things you actually need to do next, in the order you need to do them.

Honest about limits

We are not your airline and we cannot change your booking. Where an answer depends on your ticket, your carrier or your country, we say so instead of guessing.

No selling

We do not sell flights, hotels or insurance, and we do not take booking commissions. That keeps the guidance about what helps you, not what pays us.

Kept current

Baggage fees, security rules and transport prices change. We revisit guides on a regular cycle and note when something is likely to vary locally.

The team

Small team, narrow focus

Four people write and check everything here. Between them they have worked airport operations, airline customer service and travel publishing.
