Preference items: if we remember something you chose, such as a filter you selected, it is stored locally in your browser and never sent to a third party.

Aggregate measurement: where we count page views we do so in a form that does not identify you individually.

Every major browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and local storage from its settings or privacy menu. Blocking everything may make some parts of the site behave oddly, but you will still be able to read the guides.
